Cases and Evidence

All Investigators bring ideas and contributions in collection of data not only from this ghost hunting group but there own life and work experiences. We want to present to and educate the public on how we deem evidence as paranormal. All members are encouraged to question any evidence and to be their own skeptic. The cases presented here are only a fraction of the investigations we have attended. These cases are those that presented the most/unusual activity that was deemed paranormal through our investigative process. Each investigation is approached with an open mind, we only will claim a site has paranormal activity after all recorded evidence is reviewed, personal experiences are examined, and any claims provided prior to and during the investigation can not be explained away. Even then, the evidence found must be strong enough to validate the claim and/or experience.

Case#090419 – Stone Church – Tompkins County

The church was constructed in the mid 1800’s and is currently serving as a location for several businesses. The business owners as well as the residents of this location have had personal experiences from hearing footsteps to voices. Most often the claim of feeling they were being watched and static charges were felt. The equipment was set up; DVR, Recorders, Camcorders, and Digital Camera’s.  EMF Reading proved to be low with occasional spikes for no known reason. Businesses were located downstairs and the second floor was occupied as a 2 bedroom Living quarters.  Personal experiences were few; shadows, cold spots and unexplained noises. Evidence captured was in the form of EVP’s mainly on the second floor. The paranormal activity seemed both intelligent and residual.

This EVP has 3 parts to it, they start in about the middle of the recording. First you will hear a whisper "Talk to me" then the clang of a cups hit together then immediately followed by "Tommy", then right after that what we believe is said in a low whisper "Can I have a sip?".

Case#090529 – Old Army Barracks – Sackets Harbor

This was the site of a battle of the War of 1812, seven separate forts originated here.  All the forts are now long gone and all that remains are six administrative type buildings and several homes and row houses. The site was used as a military training site since the War of 1812 until World War II. The barracks was used through the Civil War and then Lt. Ulysses Grant served there. After the Civil War the barracks were closed for 10 years, only to be re-opened again by then President  U.S. Grant . The site was abandon again in the late 1940’s and moved to Fort Drum in Watertown.  We have investigated this site six times to date and have had several personal experiences. Investigators have been touched, experienced cold spots, experienced static charges, seen lights turn on and off, heard marching in the quad, seen poltergeist type activity, heard footsteps, had windows and doors open and close, equipment manipulation and have heard voices and seen shadows.  Evidence captured was in the form of several EVP’s, digital photographs, and video from camcorders. The paranormal activity which exists in all the remaining structures is both intelligent and residual.

 Case#090502 – Old Baptist Church – Tully

Built 1824 and moved 1 mile from its original location in 1836, this church served the community until the 1970’s. The church was active in community affairs but seemed to have an unsettled past. In a 5 year period in the late 1800’s the church went through 8 Pastor’s. A historical search also found that the area Mason’s and the church had a dispute in the same time period. During the 1970’s, the church became the new home of the Tully Area Historical Society. We have investigated this site 4 times to date. Personal experiences have been; shadows, cold spots, being touched, audible footsteps and knocks. Evidence to date that has been captured has been EVP’s and digital photographs. Paranormal activity seems both intelligent and residual.

1. Is the face of what appears to be a woman in a Anomoly (or Orb). this picture was taken during set-up in front of our Base Station Monitor. 2. John Vail is a known Deacon of the old church, he died in the late 1800's and has visited our team several times on audio, during KII Sessions and with the Dowsing Rods. He also built the home that 2 of our members grew up in. 3. "I'll Meet you" was captured as we were begining to close down the investigation.

Case#091010 – Old Temple – Tully

Built in the late 1800’s this building was once the home of a prominent family of that day. Today it is the home of the Mason’s organization. Several claims were made by people working in the building of odd noises, footsteps, voices, the feeling of being watched, and shadows.  Equipment used was the DVR system, digital photography, digital recorders, camcorders with IR lighting, and the Parabolic Ear. Evidence obtained was an unusual 5 circled anomaly that moves with purpose past one of the DVR IR Camera’s. A few EVP’s were recorded, one speaking to one of our investigators. Also recorded was the sounding of a bell that was used to prompt earlier activity. During EMF sweeps, occasional spikes up to 6.0 were seen, no normal cause was found for this fluctuation. Personal experiences was a recorded temperature drop of 10 degrees in a room used by the Eastern Star Ladies organization, and one of our members being pestered by a fly while reading Mason literature aloud. This was the same rooms that EVP’s were recorded in.  Paranormal activity here seems intelligent, future investigations are being planned.

1.    2.   3.

1. An EVP recorded in the Main meeting area at 0:07. Investigators used a bell to prompt activity, the bell sounded after 2 investigators left the area and one remained behind with the Parabolic Ear. 2. "I miss you" was recorded in a upstairs room used by the Eastern Star at 0:06 as investigators did EMF sweeps. 3. Recorded in the same room, "That one" was captured at 0:03 while investigators discussed the history of the lodge.

Case#091209 –  Erie Mansion - Clyde

This case has been one of the most interesting and active investigations our team has covered. The experiences we had were exciting due to the intelligence of the paranormal activity that took place. Most of what we felt or saw was backed up by the evidence we captured. It is not often you find a place that can even make a skeptic stand back and take notice. Our evidence will speak for itself, but our personal experiences, will always be hard for others to appreciate.

The home was built in 1858 and transformed in to a stately manor by 1910. The home has 43 rooms and is 12,000 square feet. It was built originally for Dr. J.E. and Mrs. Smith and later inhabited by their daughter Eugenia Smith who married Charles Ely the “Glass King of America”. The home has had various types of residents. It was home to various families, veterans, and low-income families. The home has had its share of past tragedies and possibly the site of a murder.

Our investigation started with a tour from Mark Wright who owns and operates the home. Mark explained the amount of activity on each level of the 3 story mansion along with his personal and visitor’s experiences. From there we set up an 8 channel digital video recorder system with 8 inferred cameras. We had 2 camcorders with IR lights and one camcorder with attached night vision as mobile devices. 6 digital recorders were placed throughout the home and one recording parabolic ear was used as a mobile listening device. 3 digital still cameras were used along with 4 electric magnetic field detectors, 3 temperature devices, and 3 KII Meters. During the investigation team members had many personal experiences. The sound of footsteps was often heard throughout the entire home and verified though the DVR system that no team members or other living persons were in that area at the time of that experience. Several cold spots were felt and a recorded 15 degree temperature drop was observed in the Red Room, Eerie Suite, and main stair case. At one point recorded on the DVR system, your breath could be obviously seen in the Red Room. Shadows were observed in the Honeymoon Suite, Red Room, Eerie Suite, 3rd Floor apartment, and Mrs. Smith’s bedroom. During EMF sweeps, the team experienced a baseline reading of 0.3 with unexplained spikes from 3.0 to 5.0 gauss on the main stair case and various spots on the second floor. Voices and breaths were heard audibly, some being captured on our digital recording devices.

During our evidence review we discovered several EVP’s, a bright orb style light in a photograph along with a human type reflection in a window, along with our breath seen in the DVR at a recorded cold spot. This evidence was saved to a disc and given to Mark Wright for his use.

The EVP’s were recorded in the Honeymoon Suite, Eerie Suite, Red Room, and Main Stair Case at the top and the 3rd floor apartment and analyzed in our Audacity Sound Program. Some EVP’s seemed residual while others were obviously intelligent. Photographs taken in Mrs. Smith Bedroom showed a distant reflection of a bearded grey haired man sitting in a chair wearing a white coat in 2 of 4 photographs taken from the same spot. A photograph taken at the top of the main stair case showed a bright blue streaking orb appearing light about 2 feet from the floor. Further review found the face of a woman, man and a cat present in the light.

After reviewing our recorded evidence and the noted personal experiences observed by all the team members investigating, it is of our opinion that the Erie Mansion is haunted. The level of paranormal activity was so great it would not do this home justice to label it anything else.

If you are interested in a tour of the mansion you can contact them through their website at www.eriemansion.com . Tours are $10 per person and are well worth the experience. Bring a camera, camcorder or a voice recorder and try to capture some paranormal activity during your visit.

Bill was also rumored to have hung himself in the main staircase, when asked so during an EVP session at 0:06 "Get out" was recorded. 7. In the Eerie Suite during an EVP session "He works in town" was recorded.

Case#100109 - Strathmore Area Home

The current owner of a home built in 1915 claims he has been awaken several nights by an unknown noise. Though he does not to feel threatened in the house, he does feel he is not alone. The owner has a friend that is a Sensitive, she claims she feels a man sitting in a chair near the fireplace reading a newspaper. The owner has recently remodeled the home and the Sensitive claims the man likes the new look. The home-owner wanted us to determine if any spirits were in his home. The house is one of many in a quiet section of the city, it has a full basement with two stories and a full size attic which was half finished with an additional room.

The investigation started with a tour of the home and the many rooms. Equipment used during the investigation was a 8-channel DVR system with 8 IR Cameras. 6 digital voice recorders and the Parabolic Ear with recorder attached. 2 camcorders with IR lighting and a digital camera with a night vision attachment. A separate digital camera without attachments was also used. 3 KII Meters and 8 different EMF detectors were placed throughout the home. Temperature readings with IR digital readings and Ambient thermometers were utilized to get a baseline temperature throughout the home.

Baseline EMF was found high in the livingroom near the fireplace, further investigation found boiler controls in basement below this area produced high EMF readings in the 30.0 range. Occasional KII Meter spikes happened in the attic as well as the diningroom. In the attic one of our investigators was touched on her head and cold spots were detected. The DVR system captured no evidence, but the digital camera with night vision attachment captured and unknown and unseen person in the dining room. The picture was sent to South Jersey Ghost Research Group for further review and they concurred that an unknown individual was in the picture. Digital recorders throughout the home recorded no EVP's except for the one located in the son's room. Several voices and noises were captured.

Further research of the home and property found that a death did occur in the home which was unknown to the owner. The current owner thought there was only two owners prior to him owning the home when in fact there was three. The death was a suicide from a gunshot wound nearly 40 years ago. The activity and energy in the home seems more residual and has never posed a problem for the homeowner.

All our investigators were wearing T-shirts and/or sweatshirts, the homeowners the same.  The gentleman wearing a tie and vest was not seen by anyone in the room. 2. A loud bang at 0:05 which resembled a gunshot and three sets of words 0:08, 0:09, 0:10 were recorded in the son's room, this noise was never heard by investigators. 3. Recorded at 0:03 in the same room later on was "they meant inside". 4. A single whisper was recorded at 0:06 also in the same room "bathroom". 5. "it's not me" was recorded at 0:05 again in the same room which maybe in response to investigators asking questions on the second floor. 6. "Dan" at 0:05 and a lower audible whisper "water" were again recorded in the son's room. 7. With no investigators in the area, "the end" was recorded at 0:08.

Case# 100410 - Old Stone House

This structure once a iconic home of the community now stands as a reminder of a time past. The craftsmanship of that day demonstrates the care and design of an era when things were built to last by people that cared about detail. We have investigated here 3 times to date. We used our 8 Channel DVR System with IR Camera’s, several voice recorders, Bionic Ear, digital camera’s, full spectrum camera, Night Vision camera, several camcorder’s, Trap Camera, KII Meter’s, EMF Gauges, Thermal Imager, Weather Station’s, and stationary lighted EMF gauges. The building has a full basement, 3 floors and a 4th floor observation area. Investigator’s had several personal experiences. Disembodied voices, cold spots, being touched, equipment malfunction, and ill effects. Several successful KII Meter sessions were conducted. Evidence caught to date is photo’s of orb type anomaly’s, EVP’s on digital recorders and apparitions filmed with our night vision. Several claims posted on various web sites about haunting activity at the house, were all debunked. Further investigations will be needed to further answer the mystery’s of the home.

Case# 110618 - Old Temple II - Tully, NY

Re-visit of an earlier investigation from 2009 brought some new evidence to the paranormal that exists in the building. The team was training new members and refreshing skills and testing new equipment. The team experienced several noises, cold spots, and had 2 successful KII Sessions. Several anomalies/orbs were captured on film and in the DVR camera's. What we captured on the second floor window using a digital camera is validation for a local Sensitive who has always spoke of a man that stands in the second floor middle window peering out. The first photo is that of the room, the second is an enhanced image of the window and what was captured.

                       1.  2.

1. The general overview of the room looking toward the west and a view of Route 11. Investigators are taught to photograph windows and mirrors on an angle to eliminate them and other investigators from contaminating the photo. 2. Is and enhancement to better view what was captured during the photo sweep. The image in the window appears as a man, the investigators in the room were both woman and were located off to the right in the room.

Case# 110114 - Old Church and House - Homer, NY

The history of this old structure is that of happiness and great sadness. This place may be the site of a murder of a child from the early 1800's. Investigators had several personal experiences such as cold spots, static charge, ringing in the ears, hearing dis-embodied voices, some orb energies were captured on film, but surprisingly no EVP's were captured. Towards the end of the investigation, 3 of our investigators where able to debunk noises in the basement due to a resident bat flying around! They also found a passage way to a unknown section of the basement. Two of our investigators captured on seprate camera's an image of a person standing near a basement window with nobody present in that area of the basement.

1.

1. Photo of an apparition to left of the pole in the sub-basement. When enlarged, investigators believe this to be of a young woman in either late 1800's or early 1900's style clothing.
